Putting your car’s year, make and model in the message helps, and if you are writing about a price on this site, mentioning which page it was on saves us both a search.
What I can help with
- Corrections. If a price is out of date or a fact is wrong, please say so. Include where you saw the better number if you have it. This is the most useful mail I get.
- Requests. If there is a repair, a cost, or a shop situation you want covered, tell me. Requests genuinely shape what gets written next.
- Something broken on the site. A link that goes nowhere, a page that will not load, a table you cannot read on your phone.
What I cannot help with
Diagnosing your particular car. I am not a mechanic and I cannot tell you what is wrong with your vehicle from a description, a photo, or a trouble code. Anyone who offers to do that over email is guessing, and a wrong guess about a car costs real money.
If you need to know what is actually wrong, the pages here on reading a code yourself and getting a proper diagnosis from a shop will get you further than I could by email.
I also cannot tell you whether a specific shop is honest, take sides in a dispute you are having with one, or give legal advice about a repair gone wrong. For that last one, the rights page points at the Illinois Attorney General’s complaint process, which is the right first step.
What happens to your message
I read everything that comes in. I do not reply to all of it, and I will never add you to a mailing list — there isn’t one. Your email address is used to reply to you and nothing else. It is not sold, shared or passed to anyone. The privacy policy spells that out.
